Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of lifefilings.com (the “Site”) and any purchase made through it. By placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

This is an operational draft grounded in how the Site actually works, not a substitute for review by a lawyer licensed in your jurisdiction. Review it before relying on it.

1. What we sell

Life Filings sells personalized, novelty “parody legal document” prints — for example a mock Form S-1 for a birth or graduation, a mock merger agreement for a wedding, a mock letter of intent for an engagement, or a mock Schedule 13E-3 for a retirement — sold as framed or unframed art prints.

These are novelty keepsakes only. They are not real legal, financial, or securities documents; they have no legal force; they are not filed with, reviewed by, or affiliated with any government agency, court, or commission; and nothing on a print constitutes legal, financial, or tax advice. Every template says so on its face.

2. Your personalization content

You provide names, dates, and other details, and — for the flexible joke section on each document — either pick from a curated list or write your own line. Before payment, the Site requires you to review a full-size proof of the exact document that will be produced and confirm it's correct. Once you confirm and pay, we treat that proof as approved: we are not responsible for typos, misspellings, or factual errors in content you supplied and approved at that step.

You're responsible for the content you submit. By submitting it, you confirm you have the right to use it and that it doesn't:

• infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, or other rights;
• contain another identifiable person's private information without their consent (this includes a child's full legal name and birth details — please make sure you have the right to share what you submit);
• be unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or hateful; or
• impersonate a real organization, filing, or legal instrument in a way intended to deceive.

We may refuse or cancel an order whose personalization content violates this section, with a refund of any amount paid.

3. Orders, pricing & payment

Prices are shown in USD at checkout, and that's the total you'll pay — shipping is free within the United States. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your card number. Your order is placed only once Stripe confirms payment — not when you submit the form. We may change prices at any time; the price you paid is the price that applies to your order.

4. Production & shipping

Every order is made to order after payment: we render your personalized document, and — for framed orders — have it printed and framed by a production partner, then shipped to the address you provide. Estimated production and shipping time is 5–7 business days. Because each item is personalized, please double-check your shipping address; we're not responsible for orders sent to an address you entered incorrectly, though we'll do what we reasonably can to help if you catch it quickly.

5. Intellectual property

The document designs, layouts, and curated joke-bank text are owned by Life Filings. You're granted a license to receive one physical print of your personalized version; you may not reproduce, resell, or redistribute the underlying template design. You keep whatever rights you already had in the personal content you submitted (names, dates, your own written lines).

6. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Site and products are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent the law allows, Life Filings isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your order or use of the Site, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid for the order giving rise to the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

7. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Life Filings maintains its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above will reflect the latest revision. Changes apply to orders placed after they're posted.
